  1. Brakes:

    • Brakes must be adequate to control the vehicle at all times. All brakes must be in good working order and must comply with the Standards of Brake Efficiency:
      • Brakes applied to every wheel must be capable of stopping the vehicle within 30 feet from 20 miles per hour.
  2. Crankcase Ventilating System:

    • Required on 1964 and newer models, except diesel, electric-powered vehicles, and vehicles registered in the Special Purpose Commercial class.
  3. Air Contaminant Emission System:

    • Required on 1968 and newer models.
  4. Defrosting Device:

    • Required on 1965 and newer models to prevent the formation of snow and ice on the windshield directly in front of the operator. Certain agricultural and specialized equipment are exempt.
